Easter Choral Evensong

with The Choir of Holy Sepulchre, The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble

This is an Eastertide Choral Evensong with music by some of the masters of the High Renaissance. Lassus’s dramatic setting of the Easter hymn Aurora Lucis Rutilat is in ten parts and is preceded by Vivanco’s rich eight-voice, exuberant setting of the Magnificat. These sit alongside more intimate works: Victoria’s Nunc Dimittis and Lassus’s beautifully crafted miniature, Adoramus Te.
