Private Guided Tours & Photography
We know that many groups enjoy a guided tour experience when visiting the us. We have TV screens around the church with loops of historical information, an audio tour on our App, a range of virtual reality tours and we also offer private guided tours and talks led by our Rector and other guides as well as, that can all be booked in advance via bookings@hsl.church.
Please see below for further details about our private guided tours that include a range of history and heritage tours and talks and a range of heritage and wellbeing journeys (More details here ). The intention is that all our tours and talks can be experiences physically journeying around or a led experiential talk from the church, and even a VR version to ensure accessibility for all. We are also prepared to work with you to develop bespoke tours and journeys that meet you requirements.
In respect of 3rd party Guided Tours:
-Please do not bring a group, for a self guided visit without checking in advance.
-Please contact bookings@hsl.church with your prefered date and numbers.
- A fee per person is payable.
Filming and photography (without flash or artificial lighting) of the monuments and windows for purely personal use and enjoyment is permitted. Photography and filming for commercial purposes, including any photography and filming of our musicians rehearsing or during worship is strictly prohibited without prior written agreement. Please contact bookings@hsl.church in advance to discuss further.
Tours and talks can be arranged from 30 to 90 minutes. We normally suggest a minimum of 15 visitors to make it cost effective.
Tea and coffee is provided on arrival and Sandwiches and drinks can also be arranged for groups who wish to combine a tour with a meal in one of the wonderful spaces in the church.
A range of Tours and talks are available led by the Rector, members of the church team or a specialist approved guide depending on subject. The tours and talks can be about the history of the church from the year 1100, the Royal Fusiliers relationship, the dedication as the National Musicians’ Church, the Benefice to name a few, with guidance on memorials, persons of interest, monument and artefacts of particular note. Questions are encouraged and photographs (for personal not professional use) are allowed. External expert speakers can also be considered.
Although we aim to make our church and external spaces as accessible as possible, the tower tour for example involves a circular stone staircase of almost 60 steps and will unfortunately not be suitable for those in wheelchairs or with mobility issues or be suitable for under 18s. We would be happy to discuss appropriate talks and tours to suit your needs and group profile.
We warmly welcome external guides with their groups visiting the church and offer special group rates for external guides groups of 10 or more visitors. We recommend you pre-book your group visit in advance with our team to avoid disappointment.
Prices for tours and talks vary, depending on their nature and length, and start at £20 per head.
