WHO WE ARE
Православна українська парафія Покрови Пресвятої Богородиці міста Лондон, була заснована 14 жовтня 2021 року. Дана парафія входить до складу Архиєпархії Тіатейри і Великої Британії Вселенського Патріархату. Богослужіння проводить священик Православної Церкви України Мирослав Пушкарук. При церкві діє чудовий хор під керівництвом талановитого регента Івана Біланюка. На даний час наша громада налічує 50 людей. З початку утворення свою капличку для наших Богослужінь нам люб'язно надавала Архиєпархія з благословення Архиєпископа Тіатейри і Великої Британії Нікітаса (Луліаса). У травні 2023 року ми перейшли у великий, чудовий храм Holy... Люб'язно наданий нам в оренду Англіканською церквою. Наші Богослужіння відбуваються українською мовою з дотриманням всіх обрядів як в Україні. Після Богослужіння є заняття з дітьми щодо розуміння Закону Божого і виховання у дітей любові, взаємоповаги, толерантності до оточуючих. Також після Богослужінь люди за чаюванням обговорюють свої поточні справи, діляться досвідом свого життя. Для українців є дуже важливою церква адже українська нація є віруючою і в своїй більшості є християнською. Коли українці приїжджають в іншу країну то найперше вони шукають українську церкву. Люди на Богослужінні почувають себе як вдома. Церква для українських людей є місцем спокою і захищеності.
The Orthodox Ukrainian parish of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of London was founded on October 14th, 2021. Our parish is a part of the Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Myroslav Pushkaruk, a priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, conducts our services.
Our services are accompanied by a wonderful choir made up from members of our congregation and led by the talented conductor Ivan Bilanyuk. Currently, there are around 50 people in our community.
From the beginning of its formation, the Archdiocese has kindly provided us with its chapel for our Divine Services with the blessing of the Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain Nikitas (Lulias).
In May 2023, we moved into the large, beautiful Holy Sepulchre Church (Holborn Viaduct) kindly leased to us by the Church of England.
Our services are held in the Ukrainian language with observance of all Ukrainian traditions. After the Divine Service, Father Myroslav teaches classes for children about understanding of God's Law aims to reinforce the Christian values of love, mutual respect, and tolerance for others.
Also, after the services, members of our community gather to chat about their life and share their experiences with a cup of tea or coffee.
For many Ukrainians the church is an integral part of their lives, this is because the Ukrainian nation is religious and the majority are Christian. When Ukrainians come to another country, the first thing they look for is a Ukrainian church. People feel at home during services. For Ukrainian people, the church is a place of peace, security and community.
