A rare opportunity to hear China’s authentic traditional and modern music in a splendid London church. 

Features two of China’s most distinguished masters, Li Fengyun 李凤云 (guqin zither) and Wang Jianxin 王建欣 (dizi, xiao and xun wind instruments),  leading UK musicians including Cheng Yu程玉 (pipa lute), Wang Xiao 王潇 (erhu fiddle), Jason Lau 刘瑞中 (guzheng zither) and Dennis Lee (李光泰 (xiao flute) as well as performances from both the London Youlan Qin Society and the UK Chinese Music Ensemble.

Flowing Water  – Guqin solo (based on a 1425 score)

Ambushed From all Sides – Pipa solo (1818 Li Fangyuan’s pipa handbook)

The Moon Reflected in the Second Spring – Erhu solo (Ah Bing, 1930s)

The Lotus Flower – Guzheng Solo (Trad.)

Cranes Calling in the Nine Marshes – Guqin solo (Early 15th century score)

Hidden Fragrance – Guqin & xiao duet (12th century score) 

Song of Chu State – xun (ocarina solo) – (19th century score)

Song of the Sea Eagle – Dizi flute solo (Trad.)
Tundra Swan – Silk String Quartet (“Wild China” theme song by Barnaby Talor 2011)
Crouching Dragon – Silk & Bamboo Ensemble (Theme Song of “Three Kingdoms”)
