One of the finest English composers of the Renaissance, William Byrd died in July 1623. In honor of the 400th anniversary of his death, Byrd International Singers is proud to present a program of music by Byrd and his contemporaries: Thomas Tallis, Philippe de Monte, and Thomas Morley.

ABOUT BYRD INTERNATIONAL SINGERS

The Byrd International Singers is a select group of singers from around the world that participate in annual courses hosted by The Byrd Ensemble. During a week of intensive singing, singers refine the vocal and musical skills required for professional ensemble singing. This year's course was held in Devon, just outside the town of Tiverton.

Byrd International Singers is directed by Markdavin Obenza, director of Seattle-based Byrd Ensemble, founder of chamber choir Radiance, and Producer for Scribe Records, an independent record label. He is an active freelance singer who performs with the Byrd Ensemble and has performed with the Tudor Choir, Early Music Vancouver and members of the Tallis Scholars. He is the Director of Choral Music at Trinity Parish Church in Seattle, Washington, USA.
