Monica McGhee - soprano
Scottish Soprano Monica McGhee holds a BMus fromThe Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a Masters in Vocal Performance with Distinction from the Royal College of Music in London. At the prestigious National Opera Studio, she was the recipient of a Sybill Tutton Award, A Musicians Company Awarad, and a Drake Calleja Scolarship. Operatic engagements include Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Dorset Opera Festival), Leila Les Pêcheurs des perles (Opera Bohemia), Mimi La Bohème (Kensington Symphony Orchestra and Opera D'Amore), Gretel Hansel and Gretel (Bloomsbury Opera), Frasquita Carmen (Scottish Opera - cover role). On the concert platform, Monica has appeared as a soloist at The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall, The Barbican, Glasgow City Halls and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
Paul Sheehan - baritone
Paul has been a permanent member of the English National Opera Chorus since 2012 and his roles there include Bogdanowitsch The Merry Widow, The Coroner Jack the Ripper: The Women of Whitechapel, Policeman La Bohème, Jen Jensen/Quartet of the Defeated/Lumberjack Paul Bunyan, Antonio The Marriage of Figaro, Foreman Trial by Jury, Shepherd Thebans, Army Surgeon The Force of Destiny, Messenger La Traviata and Usher Rigoletto. Other roles include Ceprano (Grange Park Opera), Peter St Matthew Passion (Glyndebourne), Don Alfonso Cosi fan Tutte (Glyndebourne on Tour) and oratorio engagements encompassing Handel’s Messiah to Tippett’s A Child of Our Time.
Chad Vindin - pianist
A rising star of the accompaniment world, Chad Vindin has won prizes including the accompanist prize at the Royal Overseas League Competition and the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards Accompanist’s Prize. Born in Australia, Chad first studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before moving to London. He studied with Malcolm Martineau and Michael Dussek at the Royal Academy of Music, and went on to be awarded the position of Lord & Lady Lurgan Junior Fellow in Accompaniment at the Royal College of Music for two years.
Chad performs regularly across the UK and internationally. An avid orchestral musician he has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Sinfonia’s Education and Discovery Programs, and with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Edinburgh International Festival. As a chamber musician he has worked with ensembles including Manchester Collective and Magnard Ensemble. He is a founding member of the Sydney Chamber Opera Company and performed with OperaUpClose in their Olivier Award-winning production of La Bohème.
Chad is a vocal coach at the Royal Academy of Music, a staff pianist at the Royal College of Music and a regular staff member at the Oxenfoord International Summer School for Singers and Accompanists, the Abingdon Summer School for Solo Singers, the Wessex Solo Singer’s course, and he is an alumni of the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme.
