A MUSIC PARTY AT MONTAGU HOUSE
Inspired by a painting of 1733 entitled ‘A Music Party at Montagu House’, this programme presents a reimagining of the music party at the home of John, 2nd Duke of Montagu, drawing on the pastoral themes that were fashionable in music and the visual arts of the time. The concert will include items by Handel, Pepusch, Joseph Bologne, Johann Galliard and Ignatius Sancho.
