Monthly Concert with Songhaven

On the last Friday of each month, we will be presenting a professional dementia-friendly concert at 1.15pm. The concert is free to attend and booking is essential.

Relaxed - Inclusive - Joyous FREE - All Welcome! Please note that booking in advance is essential A 45 minute concert of well-loved songs from stage & screen performed by 3 professional artists. Relaxed, dementia-friendly, and shame-free atmosphere - singing along and responding to the music are warmly welcomed! Performance followed by a social tea. Accessible venue & toilet facilities - please let us know of any specific access needs or concerns at time of booking.

Soprano Louise Fuller Louise graduated with Distinction for her Masters at the Royal College of Music. She also holds an Artist Diploma as part of the RCM’s International Opera School. She is an alumnus of the Premiere Opera Training Programme in Banff, Canada, British Youth Opera, London Song Festival, Samling Young Artist Programme, and the Alvarez Young Artist programme for Garsington Opera.  

Roles include Musetta La Bohème, Miss Jessel Turn of the Screw, and Tirésias Les Mamelles de Tirésias (all with Euphonia Opera for Rye Arts Festival), Juliet in Gounod's Romeo and Juliet with Opera at Bearwood, and, in association with Tête à Tête. Concert engagements include performing Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music at Buckingham Palace, conducted by John Wilson, and as guest soloist with the Trinity Laban String Ensemble singing Britten's Les Illuminations. Most recently Louise has been part of Wigmore Hall’s Academy of French song: The French Song Exchange, in partnership with the École Normale de Musique de Paris with Dame Felicity Lott and Francois la Roux. https://www.louisefullersoprano.com/

Shropshire baritone Peter Edge graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Masters in Vocal Performance with Distinction. Competition successes include winning the Chris Treglown Memorial Award and being joint winner of the 2020 John Kerr Award for English Song, as well as being runner-up in the Lesley Garrett Opera Prize and David Clover Singer’s Platform Recital Competition. Recent roles include Schaunard (cover) in Puccini’s La Boheme and Afron in Rimsky Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel with English Touring Opera, Le Dançaire and Chorus in Bizet’s Carmen with Longborough Festival Opera and Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Hampstead Garden Opera. Notable performances, past and future, include Peter’s debut at the BBC Proms, singing Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the Monteverdi Choir, and Schubert’s Winterreise at Chester Music Society’s Celebrity Concerts, with pianist John Gough. https://www.peteredgebaritone.com/

Pianist Gamal Khamis has performed at Carnegie Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Sage Gateshead, as well as all over Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. He made his debut at the Wigmore Hall at the age of ten, and he gained a degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London before completing his formal education at the Royal College of Music, where he now works with the Vocal Faculty and the Junior Department. He has won major prizes at the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition and the Ferrier Awards and he is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 3 In Tune, where he has performed alongside Sol Gabetta, Vilde Frang and Erwin Schrott. https://gamalkhamis.com/
